The Annual Institute on Addiction Studies offers professional development and learning opportunities to those working and involved in substance use and related fields. This year's annual Institute features the following presentations: . "The Impact of Addiction on the Family": Maureen Brine, Interventionist and Imago Relationship therapist . "Attachment Disorder: Connecting the Disconnected": Greg Lubimiv, Executive Director of the Phoenix Centre for Children and Families . "Competencies for the Substance Abuse Workforce": Rod Olfert, Knowledge Broker at the Canadian Centre on Substance Abuse (CCSA) . "Addiction: Healing Through the Seven Grandfather Teachings": Edward Ellison, Native Canadian Centre of Toronto . Presentations and workshops on complex PTSD, relapse prevention, self-sabotage, gambling and tobacco addiction All workshops and presentations attended at the Annual Institute on Addiction Studies conference are preapproved for Continuing Education Units (CEUs) through the Canadian Addiction Counsellors Certification Federation (CACCF). Participants may also apply for CEUs through their own professional associations and certification bodies.

First International Conference on Prevention of FASD

This international conference will address primary, secondary and tertiary prevention of FASD. Questions de substance 2013

Du 4 au 6 novembre 2013 
 
Questions de substance est le principal événement d'apprentissage au Canada pour le domaine de la toxicomanie. Organisé par le Centre canadien de lutte contre les toxicomanies (CCLT ) en collaboration avec le Conseil exécutif canadien sur les toxicomanies (CECT), Questions de substance donne aux professionnels du domaine la possibilité d'échanger des connaissances, de parler recherche et d'élargir leur réseau. L'édition 2013 aura pour thème De savoir à savoir-faire : Apprendre. Inspirer. Changer. Les nouvelles aptitudes et connaissances acquises par les participants, à l'occasion d'une foule d'ateliers, d'expositions et d'exposés, les aideront à influencer les pratiques et l'élaboration de politiques.

2013 Alberta FASD Conference
